Holy mushrooms, this year is flying by. It's almost holiday break! It seems like a week ago I was busy getting ready for homecoming, or dressing up as Flo the progressive lady for Halloween. Before you even know it, you will be preparing for your first high school finals. Here at Link Crew, we have an awesome plan for a rally before midterms. But you will find more about that later...
Anyways, I hope you are excited to sleep in and let your brain rest for a week. However, lets not start the countdown yet. We still have a solid week left, so lets just give it our all for now, so we can reflect about how hard we worked this last week.
Until next time,
The wise one.

Mott's got talent!
Lookin for something to do on a Friday night? You should definitely come to the talent show tonight at 7pm in the Mott PAC. I'm not lying, it is seriously wonderful. I went last night and I had a blast. Just watching teachers rock out is worth the 5 dollars right there. ( or 4 dollars and a canned good.) There are some awesome singing acts, 5 hilarious MC's, and tons of other talent. Hopefully you can make it cause you'll have a great time.

Four things about Freshmen year:
The four of us picked our most important things we learned about Freshmen years. These are things that you shouldn't take for granted.
1. As high school goes on, your stress level will go up, so take the time now to enjoy things while you can. Freshmen year was my best time for free time. - Truman
2. It might be difficult to get out your comfort zone and meet new people, but it my favorite thing about Freshmen year was meeting new people. Don't rule out talking to people you normally wouldn't, anyone could be a potential friend. -the Brain
3. You might not feel like you are a part the school, believe it or not, there is something here for you. I played sports throughout my freshmen year and I am so glad I did because it helped me meet people I would have never talked too. Take advantage of being able to make a family outside of your home and become active member of your school. - The wise one
4. Don't have the attitude that, "This school is stupid" , having school spirit and being proud of your school not only helps the culture here, but the community as well. - the Mane

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Nom nom, watch some football, and hang out with your family. And most importantly, think about what you are thankful for. Even if you think you have nothing to be thankful, there is always something.
I hope you have great plans for the holidays. If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have big fun Black Friday shopping. If you don't go out Black Friday shopping, then have a awesome break! :)
Ciao

Hang in there.
So I don't know about you all, but this year is flying by. (That first week of school seems like forever ago.) And lemme tell you, after thanksgiving, the year will literally fly by. You might be dreading coming to school everyday, and maybe for you, school seems to be dragging on but I promise it will get better. These four years are just a preview of your life ahead, so enjoy the time you spend here and don't try to rush though high school. As Mr. Timko would say, "Have a great weekend and stay out of the chat rooms."

A follow up...
For any of you who went to the tailgate, I hope you had a great time - even though the weather wasn't the best. You guys have already gave us ideas for next year! Because it was the first one ever, it was bound to have obstacles. Like ordering double the amount of pizza that we needed.... Oh well at least the band kids enjoyed it. lol.
If you didnt go and missed out on the candy and pizza fiasco, dont fret. We are already beginning to plan ANOTHER link crew - freshmen get together. (I predict a Christmas party...)
Tip of the day:
I know it's hard for you guys to realize this, (Lord knows I didn't) but starting high school with good grades is SO important. Most of the seniors realize it now that you GPA really matters when applying to college. Now I know I'm not your parent, but just a tip for the wise and elderly, don't put the mindset "Oh, it's my Freshmen year, it doesn't matter." in your head. It really does matter. Now I'm not saying you have to Ace every class, but try your best and you will be suprised what you can do.

A word from the wise one...
What do you all think about the new security policies at Mott? My big question are the lanyards... Are they a necessity to Mott culture, or are they a waste of money? I personally don't think they are a big deal. But of course I'm not one to plan my outfits and dress nice everyday... if you are that person i could see why the lanyards would upset you. But for the rest of us, I say just wear them and call it a day. Now, that's just my opinion. So whats yours?
Don't forget about the Freshmen tailgate this Friday at 5:45pm in the Pontiac Lake Rd. parking lot! Be there or be boring...lol
